Wellness Workshop: Weighlifting 101

This hands-on workshop offers a friendly, foundational look at Olympic-style weightlifting, with a focus on the snatch and the clean & jerk. You'll learn the demands of these simple yet complex movements and provide you with a variety of modifications to fit your goals and ability.

You’ll learn how to approach the bar with better mechanics, control, and safety through:

  • Overhead positioning and stability for strength and injury prevention

  • Hip and core coordination to support explosive movement

  • Scalable progressions to meet your body where it’s at

Please come prepared to move your body and spend some time with a barbell in your hands (and over your head), this will not be a full workout but it will be a hands on learning experience! Lifting a weight overhead can seem intimidating and dangerous but this introduction is designed to help you build confidence, stability, and physical alignment as you approach the barbell!
